The program is part of the Gov Zulum led administration's agenda to revive small businesses for job creation and poverty eradication especially after the COVID-19 pendamic. In his welcome remarks, the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Poverty Alleviation Youths Empowerment and Sport Development Comrade Saina Buba said, the program is a continuation of Gov Zulum's led administration empowerment program across the state. He disclosed that so far the state government have spent over billions Naira in boosting small and medium scales businesses in the state. Appreciating the efforts of the Governor, the Commissioner said the empowerment is fisrt of its kind reaching all strata of the population. He called on the benificiaries to reciprocate the gesture with support and loyalty. In his address, the Governor said the program is part of his Government's commitment to strengthen small businesses in the state for economic development. This edition of the empowerment covers three enterprenurship groups. The GSM market, tricycle (Keke Napep) operators and tailor's associations. Categories of benificiaries also include four thousand tricycle (Keke Napep) operators will get fifty thousand Naira each and nine group leaders receive one million and the overall leaders get two million. For the GSM market, two thousand beneficiaries will receive fifty thousand Naira each, one thousand beneficiaries will receive one hundred thousand Naira each, ten will receive five million Naira each while one hundred beneficiaries will also get five hundred thousand Naira each. The Governor said the funds are disbursed as grants not loan and called on the benificiaries to use it judiciously.
